Revitalizing A Classic Country Club For Modern Living
OVERVIEW
Nestled at the base of one of three towering residential buildings off Grand Central Parkway in Queens, the North Shore Towers Country Club offers a serene retreat overlooking a lush 18-hole golf course.
Ownership sought to rejuvenate the country club by unifying its various spaces under one cohesive, elegant aesthetic that honored its traditional building roots while embracing modern design principles. The renovation covered the amenity areas, event spaces, and the commercial kitchen–which serves more than 2,500 residents and accommodates more than 300 guests per seating. We delivered durable solutions that wove luxurious upgrades throughout the spaces to enhance the quality of life for residents and staff.
APPROACH
We approached this project with a deep understanding of how each space within the country club would be utilized.
This allowed us to tailor our design to meet these needs, including meticulous planning to minimize disruption to the residents and guests during the extensive renovation. By closely collaborating with ownership, we developed a curated palette of materials and finishes that aligned with the client’s vision, including ultra-slim woven flooring to balance comfort and functionality, allowing for a soft feel underfoot while accommodating activities like dancing. We gave special focus to reprogramming the kitchen and service areas to ensure they effectively supported the entire facility. Additionally, we upgraded the window glazing to maximize views with fewer mullions and introduced high-performance glass for enhanced energy efficiency.

The seamless flow between spaces and the integration of high-quality materials at North Shore Towers elevates the daily experience for residents and staff and significantly improves operational efficiency. This comprehensive upgrade enhanced the property's value and positioned it as a desirable destination for current and future residents.
