OVERVIEW
Lever House, a 307-foot-tall office building at 390 Park Avenue, is a landmark of modern architecture, designed in the International Style by Gordon Bunshaft and Natalie de Blois of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
It was one of the first skyscrapers in New York City to feature a glass curtain wall, revolutionizing Park Avenue's skyline and influencing the design of office buildings worldwide. EDG Architecture + Engineering was commissioned by RFR to conduct a Local Law 11 FISP inspection of the facade to ensure the preservation of this iconic structure. The building's facade, with its heat-absorbing glass and stainless steel elements, is critical to its historic significance. Our inspection helped preserve this iconic structure, ensuring it remains a pioneering example of modernist architecture in Midtown Manhattan.
