OVERVIEW
Renwick Gardens at 332 East 29th Street underwent a thoughtful renovation designed to enhance the quality of life for its residents.
Home to a vibrant elderly community, the building serves as a hub for connection and well-being. With this in mind, the renovation sought to refresh key shared spaces while maintaining the building’s welcoming character. A highlight of the project was the preservation of resident-created artwork, ensuring the space continues to reflect the creativity and identity of its community.
APPROACH
We approached this renovation with a careful balance of durability, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency.
LIHC Investment Group was looking to update the ground floor interior spaces including the lobby, multi-purpose room, meeting room, fitness center, kitchen, and restrooms. Understanding the importance of daily usability, we selected materials that would withstand long-term wear while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Given the project's budget constraints, we collaborated closely with the general contractor to ensure strategic decision-making on materials and finishes. Additionally, we prioritized ADA accessibility to enhance mobility and comfort for all residents, ensuring every space remained functional and inclusive.
