OVERVIEW
The history of 90 West includes its original Cass Gilbert design, and its complete destruction after the attack on the adjacent World Trade Center.
Our work on the amenity space came well after, and our task was to enlarge the area while reflecting the high-end aesthetic of the residential spaces. Our goal was to create an oasis of light, and we opened up the sides to the adjacent units. We found ways to create a contiguous flow for the space as a whole, while creating episodic moments within that framework to house the lounge, office, kitchen and other shared spaces.
