Architecture/ Design
Project Architect
EDG is seeking a Project Architect with at least 8 to 10 years of experience to help lead teams and projects. With an emphasis on technical development, while maintaining high levels of design integrity, you will be responsible for advancing a project through all stages of design. Professional experience should include all aspects of project delivery and construction administration – including management of schedule milestones, the project team, clients, consultants, and contractors.
Salary range: $80- 160k
Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules, organizes, and executes multiple projects simultaneously, under periodic oversight of Leadership
- Production of architectural plans and details, seeking creative and innovative solutions to tasks while developing appropriate material and product research and documentation to support these solutions
- Navigate the NYC DOB permitting process, construction documentation required, and local laws and codes about the work
- Knowledge and understanding of NYC Planning and Zoning, Resolutions, and their impact on a potential project site
- Monitor the preparation of technical drawings and ensure compliance of detail documentation
- Assist with construction administration, including site visit surveys and inspections
- Research new products and materials and assist in developing specifications
- Edit, maintain, and expand the CAD, Revit, Rhino details and libraries
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited University;
- Master of Architecture degree from an accredited University (preferred but not required);
- Licensed Architect in the state of New York;
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Suite;
- Experience with Rhino, 3D Max, Sketchup, and other modeling software;
- Practical experience with on-site construction and project coordination of at least 5 years;
- Ability to lead the production of construction document sets with at least 3 years of experience;
- Experience in technical drawing and detailing of at least 3 years;
- Capacity to translate design intent into fabrication drawings;
- Experience with hands-on fabrication in a workshop environment;
- Effective written and verbal communication, from emails and reports to documents and specifications.
Architectural Designer
EDG is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our team. Responsibilities include drafting architectural plans and preparing construction documents. You will work with our architectural team members and closely with our onsite architects/engineers to meet deadlines and achieve project goals. The ideal candidate has high experience in New York City projects and proficiency in architectural design software for building design.
Salary Range: $50-100k
Responsibilities:
- Drafting architectural plans

- Assisting with construction administration, including site visits, surveys, and inspection

Requirements:
- 1-5 years of professional architecture experience
- Revit experience
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite
- Understanding of construction drawings and standards
- Knowledge of the NYC Building Code and IBC

- Strong knowledge of x-refs, layers, and layer management

Engineering and Restoration
Restoration Engineer
EDG is seeking a Restoration Engineer. This person will play an important role in our team’s innovation and development as EDG grows.
As Restoration Engineer, you’ll be involved in a dynamic portfolio of New York City projects of all scope and scale spanning all 5 Boroughs. From low-income housing to luxury towers and landmarked buildings to iconic NYC architecture, our team tackles restoration and historic preservation challenges through all project phases, from planning to construction administration. Each employee takes ownership of their projects by working directly with DOB, building owners, and stakeholders each step of the way.
Salary Range: $60- 120k
Responsibilities:
- Work on multiple major projects
- Conduct inspection and reporting for façade, roof, plaza, and garage repair projects
- Local Law 11 reporting, including site inspection, recording conditions, compiling findings for DOB report and document submission
- Building inspections from ground/roof/lifts/supported & suspended scaffolding
- Structural design for restoration projects and renovations
- Preparing plans, details, and specifications
- Perform contractor bid walkthroughs and reviews
- Review payment applications, change orders, and project schedules
- Prospect new business and develop existing relationships
- Scoping and time/staff utilization estimation for proposals
Requirements:
- 2-8 years of related experience
- 3+ years of Local Law 11/FISP experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, Master’s degree is preferred

Structural Engineer
EDG is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for project management and various tasks, from performing structural analysis to site surveying. Responsibilities include designing, drafting, and detailing new buildings and renovations for our many building projects in New York City. The ideal candidate has experience in all aspects of structural layout design and a strong interest in the latest engineering technologies and tools.
Salary range: $60- 150k
Responsibilities:
- Manage new build, renovation, and development projects through all phases;
- Assisting Project Managers in a multidiscipline project environment;
- Structural analysis of various building systems and novel design concepts developed by EDG;
- Structural design of restorations, renovations, and new building projects;
- Coordinating structural design details with architectural and MEP designs;
- Assist in producing CAD drawings of approved designs for bid and permitting processes;
- Review shop drawings, RFI’s, and perform site visits during the construction phase;
- Management and coordination of projects, including monitoring project budgets and tracking change orders
Requirements:
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in the structural design and analysis of mid to high-rise buildings;
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related is highly preferred;
- P.E. is highly preferred;
- Prior professional experience in layout design of structures, including building type, framing type, and lateral resisting structural elements;
- Strong experience with steel and concrete design and structural alterations;
- A high level of experience with engineering software is required, including but not limited to AutoCAD, RISA 3D, RAM, and ETABS;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced environment.
