This year marks a remarkable milestone: 20 years since EDG Architecture + Engineering was founded in 2005. From humble beginnings in a small Tarrytown office to a thriving New York City practice of more than 60 professionals, our journey has been defined by growth, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to shaping the built environment with integrity and vision
EDG’s story began with structural engineering—parking garages, drainage systems, and façade repairs. Those early projects, like the Sloan Kettering Hospital loading dock (2005) and Winthrop Hospital Parking Garage (2007), built the foundation for what was to come
Over time, our scope expanded. We moved from pure engineering into architecture and design, embracing complex restorations, landmark façades, and ground-up construction. Today, our portfolio spans more than 3,000 projects—from iconic cultural work like the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center to luxury residential amenities such as the Promenade Spa and Chelsea residential lobbies
Anything engineers could do, we did.
With every new chapter, EDG has grown in both scale and expertise. We’ve called four offices home:
Tarrytown (2005–2007) – our first “house-office.”
15 East 40th Street (2008–2009) – our first Manhattan foothold.
152 Madison Avenue (2009–2019) – the hub for our expanding team.
58 West 40th Street (2019–present) – our current home, soon to expand again
From a handful of engineers, we’ve grown to 62 team members in 2025, representing architects, engineers, designers, and innovators united under one roof
2010s Awards & Recognition – EDG earned spots on the Inc. 5000 and Zweig Hot Firm Awards, proof of national recognition
2014 Rebrand – transitioning from Experion Design Group to EDG, signaling a broader architectural vision
2020–2025 Expansion – despite global challenges, EDG saw 400% revenue growth since 2020, won multiple awards, and doubled down on innovation, including 3D printing for bespoke surfaces
My first project here was a rooftop skatepark for a rich kid on the Upper East Side... now I'm making buildings UFAS/ADA compliant so they're accessible for everyone. EDG has enabled my expertise and impact to expand immensely.

2025 [20 years]
As we celebrate 20 years, we’re not just reflecting on the past—we’re looking forward. Our new office expansion will give us room to continue growing, collaborating, and pushing boundaries. If the last two decades have taught us anything, it’s that EDG thrives at the intersection of innovation, restoration, and community impact.
Here’s to the next 20 years of designing and restoring with impact.
I’ve had the privilege to work on some of the most challenging and rewarding projects—and, more importantly, to do so alongside some of the most talented architects and engineers in the industry. In a city as demanding and competitive as New York, that kind of collaboration and excellence is something truly special. I’m proud to be part of a team that continues to push boundaries, solve tough problems, and shape the built environment with integrity and vision.
