Architectural Designer

Architectural Designer

EDG is looking for an Architectural Designer to join our rapidly growing team! In this role, you will prepare drawings and specifications for a variety of restoration, renovation, and new build projects in New York City.  You will work in a multidisciplinary environment in the production of high quality drawings for internal and client use on some of NYC’s most progressive projects. The diversity of projects is sure to be a great educational experience!

EDG is a leader in New York City architecture and engineering with over 2,500 successful projects. As a development partner, EDG uses industry knowledge to develop signature buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project managers in preparing plans for retail, commercial and mixed use projects in NYC;
  • Drafting and development of drawing sets for internal/external review, bidding and permitting;
  • Coordinate filing of work with the Department of Building;
  • Maintain and organize CAD file library and assist in training.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of professional experience;
  • Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite;
  • Understanding of construction drawings, requirements, and standards;
  • Strong understanding of project development process;
  • Revit experience a plus;
  • Ambitious and motivated to excel;
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.

Architectural Planner

Architectural Planner

EDG is looking for an Architectural Planner to join our rapidly growing team! In this role, you will work on client projects as well as our own development projects, on our Design-Build team. You will be responsible for the zoning and building code analysis for our new building and renovation projects.

As Architectural Planner, you will evaluate a high of NYC properties. This is an extremely hands-on role, where you’ll be exposed to the development of projects ranging from 15,000 to 300,000 square feet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Zoning & Building Code Analysis for our prospective developments and client projects.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and site plans with compliance to relevant zoning codes and regulations;
  • Collect information, prepare reports, and maps specific to project needs;
  • Zoning analysis, architectural surveys, and zoning mergers including massing and model making;
  • Preparing presentation materials for clients.

Requirements

  • 3-12 years of professional NYC zoning experience;
  • Knowledge of NYC Zoning and Building codes required;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred, Revit a plus;
  • Understanding of construction drawings, requirements, and standards;
  • Ambitious and motivated to excel;

Assoc. Structural Engineer

Assoc. Structural Engineer

We are looking for an Associate Structural Engineer to join our growing team! You will be responsible for the management of new building and renovation projects. As a team lead, you will oversee the structural engineering team in ensuring that deadlines are met and project goals are achieved

To be considered for this role, you must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and at least 5 years of working experience on New York City new build and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination of a high volume of structural design and alteration projects
  • Oversight of multiple team members, keeping the project moving and meeting demanding deadlines
  • Direct communication with clients
  • Preparation of proposals
  • Scoping and time/staff utilization estimation for proposals
  • Control of project time costs, keeping accurate track of time expended and additional services
  • Structural analysis for novel design concepts developed by EDG

Requirements

  • 8-15 years of professional experience, at least 5 years of experience working on New York City projects
  • Commercial and mid-rise residential work experience in NYC a must
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineer licensure is preferred
  • Strong experience with steel and concrete design and structural alterations
  • High level of computer proficiency with the latest software and AutoCAD
  • Experience in layout design of structures, including building type, framing type, and lateral resisting structural elements
  • High level of experience with RISA 3D, RAM and ETABS for thorough review of models and designs
  • Communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Basic business development skills for establishing new relationships preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lives for a challenge
  • Ambitious and motivated to excel
